Grandma Mildred's Brittle

The Sweet Story Behind This Classic Candy

Grandma Mildred was a lady with extreme fortitude. Tall and proud, she came from German descendants who taught her all about the art of candy making. Over the years, she made a vast number of candies and chocolates that she would dole out by the pound to all her kids and grand kids at Christmas time.

When co-founder of Moshi Food, MARCOS MUSTAIN got his first executive chef position, he had to bring his grandma's brittle to the menu. She gave him the recipe along with her tried and true techniques, and for 10 years, Almond Brittle stayed on the menu for everyones favorite after dinner treat.

Now, it is our pleasure to serve her brittle to a larger audience, honoring her legacy as not only a wonderful human, but a delightful candy maker.

Moshi Mobile is highly inspired by the international trips we have enjoyed. Our first trip to Thailand catapulted us into discovering that the flavors from around the world needed to be brought back to Montana. Since that first trip, we have gone to Oaxaca, Hong Kong, Spain, and Sri Lanka, and most recently, a tour of France. These travels and experiences have inspired all of the dishes that can be found on the food truck. Expect a wide array of fresh, spicy flavors from around the world, all while using local meats and produce.

A COUPLE OF CRAZY KIDS IN THE PURSUIT OF FLAVOR

Hi! We're husband and wife chef team Marcos and Sari Mustain. We met back in 2011 when we were hired at the same restaurant on the same day. Working together lead to a partnership which eventually lead to love and a wedding. We are each others sounding board and flavor confidants, attacking life and recipes one day at a time.

Marcos knew his passion was to be in the kitchen at an early age and has been cooking in restaurants since he was 15. He worked his way through all stations of the kitchen and eventually persued a degree in the culinary arts. He graduated at the top of his class, receiving the Grande Toque award from the Oregon Culinary Institute.

Sari is a Bozeman, MT native who graduated with a Bachelors degree in Psychology. She, however, discovered that creating amazing food for people to enjoy was more appealing. She started from the bottom as a dishwasher, learning everything she could along the way.
